Include agriculture in the emissions trading scheme

The Opportunity Party says it will strengthen the emissions trading scheme by including agricultural emissions, excluding new exotic forestry and ensuring the Climate Change Commission sets budgets.

It says it will support emissions reduction and climate change adaption, including backing programmes that reward carbon sequestration via soil, wetlands and other biodiversity-rich projects, instead of pine trees.
