In June 2024, a lawyer contacted me about a concerning clause in ANZ bank’s General Instructions for Solicitors, requiring lawyers to obtain and review LIM reports when acting for clients securing a new mortgage on a commercial building, residential apartment or property undergoing amalgamation or subdivision.
