The government has appointed a three-person Judicial Conduct Panel to examine whether District Court judge Ema Aitken’s alleged behaviour at the Northern Club last November warrants removal from the bench.
Acting Attorney-General Paul Goldsmith said panel will comprise former governor-general Sir Jerry Mateparae, Justice Jillian Mallon of the Court of Appeal, and retired Court of Appeal judge Brendan Brown KC.
