The first pay equity claims have been lodged under the government’s controversial new rules.
The New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO) has lodged two claims – for Plunket and Hospice nurses – involving nearly 1600 union members. They were among the most advance of the 12 NZNO pay equity claims which were aborted when the government passed the Equal Pay Amendment Act 2025 under urgency in May this year.
