The Commerce Commission has filed 16 Fair Trading Act charges against New Zealand’s largest gym chain, City Fitness Ltd.

The commission says the gym’s advertised membership prices were misleading as they did not include a compulsory 3% levy, and the fee was incorrectly labelled as a “transaction fee”.
