New law will protect against ‘litigation abuse’ in family matters

Parliament has passed legislation aimed at better protecting victims of “litigation abuse” in family proceedings.

Justice Minister Paul Goldsmith said litigation abuse occurred when somebody used the court system to harass, contact, and control their victim, rather than to resolving legitimate disputes.
